Everything that we have read, pondered, and discussed has supported the idea that service-learning and sustainability education are the ways to make learning meaningful by making the learning relevant, purposeful, and empowering for students. I am motivated to use the knowledge, skills and mindset developed in this course to improve my own teaching practice and feel ready to advocate and support other teachers at my school in doing the same. Thanks for Laurence and Tara for your time, energy, insight and feedback. I’m sure this won’t be our last interaction, so enjoy the holiday and take care until next time!

Thank you Katherine! I hope that you found the experience meaningful and helpful for your context. You have a big challenge ahead of you but I’m hopeful that some of these tools are able to support your work. If you need any thought partnership as you keep moving forward at SAIS please feel free to reach out to any or us! Have a wonderful summer!

I agree on all counts. I am glad to learn that this is such a large community and that there are many resources, ideas and networks to participate in which will allow me to grow as an educator, a practitioner and as a member of the service-learning and sustainability education community. Thank you for sharing the insights and for guiding us in this learning journey.
